Supporting Eritrean Entrepreneurs

Whilst many people were enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon, the Eritrean community preferred to meet at a community centre in Islington to discuss self employment. Organised jointly by the Eritrean Community UK and ACBBA, the event on 11 November attracted 25 people keen to learn more about starting up in business or developing their enterprises.

Armando Pardo, from ACBBA and Mebrahtu Russom, from ECUK led a highly interactive session which attracted numerous contributions and questions from the audience, particularly from a group of young Eritreans who are planning to create a social enterprise to address the employment needs of their peers.

The discussion was followed by networking and an opportunity to sample traditional Eritrean food. The event was part of ACBBA Self Employment support project funded by Trust for London.
